The coat of arms consists of three swords diagonally on red background. Rione probably takes its name from the Latin trivium that stood for the confluence of three Roman roads in the Piazza di Trevi. Today the heart of the district is one of the very symbols of Rome, the Trevi Fountain, which every day receives the visit of thousands of tourists from all over the world. It is an established tradition for tourists to throw a coin into the fountain to secure one day return to Rome.
