Bridge Umberto I

For the award of the work to build the bridge Umberto I was chosen in 1885 a French company accomplished its task in 1887. With regard to the structures instead of raising it commissioned another company, but not for long because there was a forced break, not knowing where and how to locate the site. The areas to be used for such use there, but a lot of it had already been occupied by the company which in the meantime had taken on the task of construction of the walls near the heads of the new bridge. They spent so many months in the inertia and in 1897 the work could be completed and the bridge had the good fortune to be inaugurated by King Umberto I in person, accompanied by his wife Margaret of Savoy. The work, created by the Allegri, was also designed to enhance functionally the Palace of Justice and its completion aesthetic. Its cost was 2.8 million dollars.
